It’s back to school time! Next week school starts and that means back to packing lunches. I like to have a variety of choices in our house to pack in lunches so that my kids don’t get bored and so they don’t want to buy lunch which is full of unwanted ingredients, additives, preservatives, sugar and bad fats. Usually we plan our lunches the night before and we get out all the ingredients and make or pack what we can so we are not rushed in the morning. I also try to keep it interesting with fun waste free lunch wraps and food storage containers from www.reuseit.com that make their lunches more colorful and eye pleasing. This helps save on plastic baggies and extra waste too!
This week I wanted to share some of our favorite recipes that my kids like to eat. All of these are kid friendly recipes that I use in our house for both lunches and for after school snacks to keep it healthy. Most kids love dips, so I have some of those included and you can use them with your kids’ favorite colorful cut up veggies or fruit or try some new ones to give them some variety. The recipes are full of good fat and protein to keep their brains functioning optimally and keep them focused at school.
