Our bodies are mostly water, and so an ongoing intake of water is essential to our every function. Drink the appropriate amounts, and everything is much more likely to function at optimal levels. Don’t drink enough water, and over the short term you will experience routine fatigue, dry skin, headaches and constipation; over the longer term, every body function will degrade more quickly.
Be Healthy Tip: To figure out approximately how much water to drink you divide your body weight in half and then drink that many ounces of water per day!
While the key is to drink plenty of water, it is also important to drink high quality, purified water. Preferably filtered or reversed osmosis (avoid distilled) in order to avoid unnecessary contaminants, chlorine, flouride and more that is lurking in regular tap water. Also, be sure to avoid chlorinated water for not only drinking, but also for showering and bathing. Chlorine kills bacteria, friendly and unfriendly, in the intestines. It is absorbed easily through the skin. Drink filtered water and install a shower filter to remove chlorine or get a whole house water system so you can shower and bath chlorine free!

Hi Sheryl,
Could you expand on why we should avoid distilled water? Is it not this the most pure form of water?
Thanks,
Hilario
Yes I do not recommend it as it lead to mineral deficiencies. I suggest using reversed osmosis if possible.
