#1 Secret to Happy and Healthy Children for Mom’s

As mother’s, we often take care of our children and families but neglect ourselves.  During our children’s youth, we often feel more like a chauffeur, ATM, cook, housekeeper, and tutor rather than the cherished mother we used to be.  We may be balancing work, caring for kids and parents, our household duties and wearing many other hats at the same time. We give so much of ourselves to others, then feel drained, depleted, overwhelmed and often isolated.  We often lose our connection to ourselves and the joy in life.

What I have learned over the years is that the #1 Secret to Raising Healthy and Happy Children is Mother’s Self-Care.  There is even research coming out that shows how mirror neurons, which are in our brains, have evolved in such a way that enables us to recognize and understand the emotions and intentions of others—not by thinking but actually feeling.  So what that means is, if the mothers are stressed or struggling, the children pick that up.  We all know that! What is the old saying, “If mamma ain’t happy no one is happy.”

As woman, we crave connection and community.  To fulfill this need, I am offering Personal Renewal Groups and my friend Sheryl Shenefelt is going to join us and I hope you can too!  It is a place to explore and discover who you are, and what you need, while being supported by women in an empowering and nurturing group setting.
